Have you ever been a cowboy?

Do you ever feel like you are missing out on the Texas Experience because you have never spent time out on the range? Stop being a city slicker and get out there and spend a day on a ranch. It is a lot of fun, great exercise and something uniquely Texan.

Beaumont Ranch is located in Grandview Texas and allows you to customize your own cowboy day or weekend. Some of the activities to choose from include:

  • Shooting Lessons
  • Skeet Shooting
  • Trail Riding
  • Cattle Drives
  • Husbandry

You can stay the night as well, but if you don’t want to it is close enough to home to drive back.

The Ranch is also home to Texas Longest Zipline if that is more your speed.

Reflection Pool at Inwood on the Park.

We have a great reflection pool here at Inwood on the Park Apartments. As just one of our great amenities here at Inwood on the Park, I have to say this might be my favorite.

The Reflection Pool with the Gazebo is a great place to just take some time and think. I like to bring my iPod, listen to some relaxing music and zone out. Or, it is a great place to get outside and read your book.

Right now, I am reading The Memory Keeper’s Daughter by Kim Edwards. So far it is a great book.

How often do you clean?

I spent all weekend two weeks ago cleaning my apartment. I scrubbed the shower, organized my closet, put all my dishes away, alphabetized my DVD collection. I did the whole messy shirt, jeans, bandanna in my hair while blasting music scenario. It felt great, once it was done.

Fast forward to weeks later and my place is a mess! Last weekend was my birthday, so of course I had plans and then this whole week I have been extremely busy. I would not invite friends over, which was part of the reason I deep cleaned in the first place.

Guess, what my mom always said was true. Clean a little each day and have all weekend to play. I am going to start making a list of daily tasks to keep my place clean and have my weekends back.Image via Wikipedia

Here is my schedule.

Monday: Quick clean the bathroom, de-clutter from the weekend.

Tuesday: Dust, put away anything out of place.Vacuum.

Wednesday: Clean the bedroom, make sure the laundry is not on the floor.

Thursday: Laundry Day! de-clutter.

Weekend: Take a break, but continue to de-clutter. If you haven’t run the dishwasher, do so.

Shrek Comes to Music Hall at Fair Park

Shrek is one of my favorite movies, the humor is really funny and the casting of Eddie Murphy was inspired. Shrek has been made into a live action musical for the big stage, and it is coming to Dallas.

Shrek the Musical  is coming to the Music Hall at Fair Park on September 28th until October 17th. Tickets start at just $25.00.

Shrek is the story of an outcast ogre who is assigned the task to bring back a princess to wed the cowardly Lord Farquaad. But both get more than they bargained for in Princess Fiona. Could she really love the Ogre? and what is her big secret?

Shrek the Musical is fun for the whole family. Will you go see it Inwood at the Park Residents? Image via Wikipedia

Scott Pilgrim

There is a lot of buzz around the films coming out this week. There is the tale of self-enlightenment that is Eat Pray Love, the shoot’em up action flick The Expendables or, the one that I am most looking forward to, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is Edgar Wright’s adaptation of the Graphic Novel Series. Scott Pilgrim (played by Michael Cera) has life going the way he planned. He is in a band with his best buds. He has a nice girlfriend. All this changes though when he meets Ramona Flowers. Scott instantly falls head over heels, but Ramona has a past and Scott must battle her 7 exes. Will Scott become victorious?

There is no question about it, Leonardo daVinci, was a genius who was way ahead of his time. But, was he smarted than say Einstein? This is the premise behind the Leonardo daVinci: Man, Inventor, Genius at The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.

From now until September 6th, you can see reproductions of some of his most famous paintings as well as inventions built based on his designs. daVinci actually invented the first flying machine. Imagine what he could do with today’s technology.

Tickets to the exhibit are only $14.00 for adults. Go see it and get inspired!

Sometimes, you just don’t feel like cooking. But the idea of going out is not to appealing either. Why not pick up something quick at eatZi’s on Oak Lawn Ave? You can order ahead online and pick it up at the store. Less than ten minutes and you are out of there!

eatZi, has some of the best fresh prepared food in Dallas. I really love the Salmon Croquettes and the Asparagus. Since you have to buy the sides in one lb portions, you will always have something left over.Which makes a great lunch the next day!

I like to buy the spreads to and bring them if I bring bagels into the office. I like the Artichoke and Crab myself.

Have you tried eatZi’s? It is only 7 minutes from Inwood at The Park

Cheesecake is a beloved dessert, I don’t particularly care for it but, it is extremely popular. And from what I have heard, Harry and David have some of the best cheesecake around. On July 28- August 1, you can go and get free samples at their Stone Briar Centre location. They also, have reduced the price of their cheesecakes!

Stone Briar Centre is located on Preston Road | Frisco, Texas. Also happening on August 1st is a meet and greet with Dallas’ own Demi Lovato. Who will be signing autographs for fans.

What a fun weekend!
